Care and Ownership Day

I need Alpacas in my life…….. so what now?

Why not try our Care and Ownership Day a Basic Husbandry Introduction course to keeping Alpacas.

We would be delighted at Park Hill Farm to share our alpacas with you for a fun day to learn all
you need to know about keeping these beautiful creatures.

This classroom and practical hands-on one-day course includes morning refreshments and a
delightful afternoon tea, in with the alpacas and unicorns (don’t ask!)
It is a great way to get the ball rolling so you can begin to make plans for your very own
herd. The course is led by owners Sam and Bill who will make you feel most welcome and
relaxed during the day.

COURSE CONTENT

The course is aimed at people who want to own alpacas or simply have the desire to learn
more about these fascinating creatures. It’s a great opportunity to get hands-on with our
animals.

Our Care and Ownership Day follows the HEART acronym and will give you the

confidence to treat and care for your 'own' alpacas.

HEART

Health, Environment, Analysis, Responsibilities, Training and Treatment.
During the day we will learn about the history of an Alpaca, body conformation and
function, feeding and alpaca management, toe trimming, teeth, body scoring, biosecurity,
vaccinations, pasture management. Also how to herd and move alpacas into a holding space to

catch, halter and take for a walk plus much more!

We recommend you book in two's with a fellow alpaca enthusiast, as some of the tasks

required to care for your herd are easier in pairs.

Your day includes refreshments and a beautiful Afternoon Tea lunch.

AGE: This experience is for 16+ only
NUMBER ON WORKSHOP: Maximum 12 people
